Day 228: 2026 in Review
This wasn’t the year I had planned for myself. But the Lord knew all along what was needed.
When reflecting on the last year, I realized I have quite the Paley medical stats. (Trust me, I know plenty who have worse)
2,214 miles traveled
3,360+ minutes in the car
18 nights in the hotel
13 doctors appointments
2 surgeries-330 minutes in surgery
1 ICU stay
28 PT visits (1,680 minutes)
3 OT visits
3 scars
1 Orthotics consultation
1 brace adjustment
4 castings -4 device fittings- 4 new braces
We have a choice every day. We can choose to look at my stats and yours and feel sorry for ourselves. But, as we move to the next year, I’m choosing to see these stats as blessings… access to top level concierge care, devices and people.
3 world- renowned surgeons
1 PA
2 anesthesiologists
4 orthotists
6 PTs
7 secretaries
countless nurses
1 Tech wizard
All of this year was only a vapor, a moment in time within the larger scheme of the days and years that will make up my life. But, may we learn to turn interruptions into opportunities… even opportunities like physical therapy torture .
What interruptions/opportunities did God place in your life this year?
