Recovery Begins

Journal entry:

Mom rescued me at the hospital at 6:30am The night nurse was afraid to touch me and made it difficult for me to get up when needed. Thankful she was back to help me use the restroom

7:00am Sara and Dr Asadi came to see us. He said I did well...looked well. We should leave at lunchtime. We will have a follow up appointment on Monday.

8:00am I had breakfast. We had PT. PT made me walk with a walker - slow going at first.

11:30am Heart rate 40 and blood pressure low. Because I said I was dizzy, they stopped the process of discharge.

Dr Asadi and Sara showed up and said I could go home. Nurses wanted PT to visit again but Dr Asadi said, "I own her PT, she's going home." I had an EKG and was released.

1:45 pm Drove to PT. Met Mike. Mike was helpful for learning how to get in and out of bed -- and beginning to learn where my foot was.

3:15 pm picked up gait belt

3:30 pm Came back to the hotel to wait for wheelchair, toilet and cushion. Those items did not arrive until 7:30 pm.

8:00 pm Mom went and got dinner

8:45 pm Bed for me. Mom spent the next 12 hours giving meds every four hours and helping me get to the bathroom as she was sure I would fall. 

Walked 430 steps today.
